Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document our adventures in RV life. Hope you have a nice stay!

What the Blank are you guys thinking?

What the Blank are you guys thinking?

So you guys decided to buy an RV and attempt to live in it? Why?

Hopefully I can give a straightforward answer to this multifaceted question. I imagine our reasons are similar to many who are choosing the RV or van life. Here goes an attempt to explain myself.

First, we simply love to travel. The prospect of seeing new places and experiencing new tings always gets us excited. So far, we have been to Central America, and many States together. Next year we will be in Mexico for a wedding. Chelsea has also studied abroad in Australia. There is just so much to see out there, even if we don’t venture outside the U.S.

Secondly, and also related to my first point; we just don’t see staying in one place for too long. A couple years ago we considered buying a house or condo, but the idea of being anchored to one place is what kept up from doing so. I think not having a mortgage will give us the flexibility to do more of what we would like to do. Besides, we aren’t saying it would be impossible to buy a place in the future if we don’t really like the RV life.

I spent five years of my life working at a job that I hated, but the money was good. I don’t see myself as being one of those people who tries to make it to retirement and then finally do the things I really want to do. Now that most of our income is coming from photography, I feel our work/life balance will be much better in our 30’s.

I could ramble on about some other aspects, but I think I’ve outlined my point. As this is our first post, I would love your feedback.

Thanks

-Brian
